Decent Men Like This Still Exist
Imagine I told you I know of a US Navy officer with a degree in electrical engineering. This fella would be considered by many as being tall, dark and handsome. At the same time, one could say he’s charming, funny, and easy to get along with. Now imagine this guy doing some of the most romantic gestures you can think of, such as surprising a girl to a horse-drawn chariot through town or a helicopter ride overlooking the city. Picture him, after a late night party, waking up ungodly early in order to purchase bouquets of flowers in time to give someone later that day, just because he could.
Let’s take it even further! Picture this scenario: this guy decides to drive hours to a girl after hearing she is sick and could use some soup (note: at no point does she seriously requests for him to actually do something for her). He has work the next day, so he can only drop off several cans of soup before rushing back home. However, upon receiving word that she was still not feeling better he turns right back around to be there for her. He stays until her roommates come back to watch over her, hours after he was suppose to head back home. The great thing is that he does all this because he truly cares about her and does not expect anything really in return except knowing she is okay.
You might be saying, “Alex, you’ve been watching too many movies! What world do you live in that has guys like that?” Guess what? I’m not making this person up. This gentleman exists, and he is my long time friend Darréll.
Sorry, the meme bug still isn’t completely out of me…As much of a romantic I can be, he seriously takes it up several notches. Sure, some people might say he goes way too far and is setting himself up for potential heartache. I have to say though, of all the problems a person could have being overly romantic and caring sure isn’t so bad! I say more power to him.
Swaggajackin’ LIKE A BAUSSNowadays, I am no longer surprise when I hear about his crazy, yet awesome antics. Instead, I immediately have to give him props (not just eProps!) for the things he ends up doing. My friend really is an outstanding person and I’m glad to know him. Ladies, better get him while he’s on the market!

That’s awesome. So glad you notice the things he does. I’m sure many girls don’t deserve a guy like him but when he finally meets the right girl, I hope she appreciated him for everything he does and she reciprocates back.

I told him today, “You do know why I complain about you so often, right?” It is because I can. I can because I am secure in my love for him and him for me and he feels the same. I always wanted to do a weed for the black man campaign. Basically, you donate money so a black man can buy his dutch, a dime worth of weed, and watch him smoke it like relaxing time. For munchies, they go to popeyes.
There are places where you’d be lucky to ever meet a woman who might be his type but isn’t scared crazy of guys like that. (If they’re not, I’m still scratching my head at why they do everything they can to hide from them.) The norm is to date someone who’s all about his own needs, showing off and near constantly threatening to kick someone’s ass, for a made up reason, or kiss butts to look good.
I know relationships take work, but for it to be real it’s all about feeling the other persons’ need to feel fulfilled or just wanting to inch closer to that person, not about doing what it takes to get them to willingly give in to your demand (most of the time ). I tell you though, it’s a huge drag on the heart to feel the urge to do those things when the women you come across take every opportunity to avoid people like that (except the swindlers who also happen to be so great at acting you’d not be surprised if they had an Emmy on their mantel), date/marry jerks and wonder why they can’t find a good man.

for me i find that guys are only romantic during the initial stage of courting. “honey moon phase” then it all fades out

I would certainly go on dates with him, if I were not already seeing someone. Regardless, he sounds like an excellent friend.
I try really hard to put my friends and the men that I date first, and do sweet things for them like your friend does. And I know that it is so hard to find someone who will reciprocate that sort of compassion. It can be disheartening. I empathize, I really do.
If ever things don’t work out between my guy and me, I’ll have to come by again to see if he’s still single. It sounds as though any girl who captures his attention is a very lucky girl to be sure.

I did it because I’d rather spend my time making sure that she’s okay than getting a few extra hours of sleep. It took me about an hour to convince her that I was actually coming down, so I’m convinced that she’s not the kind of girl that would pull a stunt like that.

and yes, those men do exist. There are tons of them, but I think a lot of times girls expect ALL guys to treat them this way. Those actions shoul be reserved for the girl the guy cares about the most.
