  • ‘Cause now again I’ve found myself so far down, away from the sun

Have you ever had this feeling that something was missing, and that once this missing thing was found you would feel complete?

Well some good things…Club has been hustling along just fine.  Never before have we had such a packed schedule, so I’m really looking forward to all the matches and tournaments to come.  Some of us will be heading down to North Carolina for a tournament this Friday.  7 hours drive..!!  It’ll be a fun experience I’m sure; just hope nothing goes terribly wrong (like my car exploding ).

I’ve been stringing so many rackets in the past few weeks and starting to get it down to just about an hour to finish up a racket w/ my klippermate stringing machine.  I feel so skilled!  Hopefully I can get it down to less than an hour with more practice.

Classes has been very good to me as well.  I’ve gotten As on the first couple of tests already, and two of my classes are extremely easy to the point well I don’t really put much time in them outside of class.  My one interviewing class on Mondays has been whittled down to only at most 1 hour and 30 minutes (down from 2 hours and 30 minutes like it says on the schedule).

On scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest, I probably should be around a 9 in terms of my overall happiness with life right now, but I’m just not feeling that way.  At least I know what’s stopping me from feeling totally satisfied.  Certain things just need to hurry up and change soon.

If I could only combine parts from my old life to my new one.

  • What a busy weekend

Wow, did soooo much stuff this weekend.  I’ll make a real update sometime after my exam on Tuesday.  Until then, here’s a sample of what went down:

    Berto’s 21st b-day:

    Maryland Tournament:

  • You’re always keeping all your borders up…

…I’m thinking something must be wrong with me,

Well i know you don’t like it,

    You’re no exclusive company,

You’re always keeping all your borders up,

And it’s a little more than you and me.

Ah, so tryout week is over for our club.  We’ve made our decisions on who we’re keeping this year already, so now we can focus on the tournaments and matches coming up ahead this semester.  We have a lot of them this time; every weekend from now til the middle of November will have something or another.  Here’s my tennis club schedule this fall:

We have a pretty strong team this year, so we should be better than ever before.  Wish us luck!

Every Car You Chase (great song mash):

    I hate Federer :

First exam this coming Monday.  Yummy…

  • Ew, what a disappointing tv day; first Djokovic choked away the match to Federer (I wanted my upset!  I hate you Federer…) then later the VMAs turned out to be very…underwhelming.  What the hell was Britney Spears doing up there?  She looked so unenergized and wasn’t even lip syncing correctly!  With that tummy of hers she was probably shouldn’t have wore that skimpy outfit; not sexy at all haha.  At least Chris Brown was able to rocked the show later on with his performance.  Now that’s some craaaaazy dancing!

Tomorrow (will technically today) will be my first Monday class, which mean I’ll finally be having that 2 and a half hour interviewing class.  Man, I just noticed that from 10am-7pm,  will only have a half hour break and a 45 break between work and class!  Hmm, I wonder when I’m gonna eat…

Living in a single has definitely grown on me.  Being single on the other hand…er, so yea, I’m sorta away from my friends that I normally hang out with, but at least I’m avoiding some drama that’s already happening with the other folks (and it’s only been 2 weeks!).

Tennis Club stuff has been taking up the most of my time so far (it should be classes, but I’m still not in that mode yet).  On Saturday some of us did a fundraising event at River Hill High School, which involved teaching some kids tennis for a few hours.  We didn’t get too many folks, but we got enough to make over 250 bucks for our club, which is much more profitable than the bake sales that the girls been doing.  So yea, this might be something we will be doing more .

Rest of the pics are over at Facebook:

Oh no, I just noticed my first paper is due this Thursday, and my first exam is next Monday!  Maybe it’s about time I do some reading…

  • I can’t believe I was in Ocean City for the past 24 hours

Gotta catch up on all the stuff I missed out now

  • After this first week, I can clearly say that I’m not in school mode at allll yet.  I’m not sure why, but it feels like time is going extremely slowly so far.  I have to keep reminding myself it’s only been one week and not a month already haha.

Not to say things have been going bad.  So far, most of my classes and professors are interesting…except for my philosophy class .  I really hope that professor can keep me awake next time I go.

Work is good too; I got all the hours I wanted, and I got a pay increase!  The fact that I hardly do much at the shop makes this job one of the best I’ve ever had .

I can definitely get used to living in my single.  My suitemates are all cool (though I haven’t hung out too much w/ them so far) and I can have my privacy if I wanted too.  Looks like I’m gonna be able to do more cooking this year as well, since the kitchen is right outside my door (as oppose to last year when it was all the way down the hall).

Here’s a quick glance of what my room and common room looks like (click if you wanna enlarge):

    Spiffy no?

Oh yea, I FINALLY learn how to string a racket last night!  It took about 3 hours or so to do it, but did it!  Now I just gotta keep on practicing and maybe I can shrink that down to 30 minutes.

Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with how things are.  Still, I can’t help but think about some things that I was used to having over the past year that I don’t have now.  A lot of “wish I..”, “why didn’t I..”and “if only..” going on in my head as of late .  It really is so distracting…now of course, Im not gonna go and list out everything I’m thinking about here, but if you’re really interested you can ask me about it later.   Hopefully I will have some things figured out by then, or at least learn to accept.

Alright, back to watching the US Open (Go Ivanovic, Roddick, Blake, Nadal, and Djokovic!)
