Month: July 2007

  • This can only be as good as we both make it

guess sometimes its gonna hurt (yes sometimes its gonna hurt)
we can be as happy as we want to be girl
but we gotta make it work
    we gotta make it work…

La la la….man, someone needs to stop me from listening to Ne-Yo so much

    ———————————————————–
Heroes need to be back on tv like…right now .  Lost as well, but that isn’t coming back on for 6 months so I gotta keep my mind away from that.  Heroes should distract me for now haha.

Promo shots for season 2 (click to enlarge) :

Glad to see one of my faves, Nathan, is back.  Gotta love them moral ambiguity characters!  Claire is looking pretty good in her new cheerleader outfit.  Oh Sylar, how does he keep surviving?  I gotta admit tho; his solo pic is pretty badass.  Sept. 24th needs to hurry up!

    ———————————————————–

Just finished watching The Host today, a Korean monster flick that is strangely similar to Little Miss Sunshine (in a way).  It was a tad iffy here and there, but it still had me interested and laughing throughout the movie.  The very beginning is probably worth checking it out.  How often do movies show the monster in full daylight?  Luckily I found a clip of it right off of youtube:

    ———————————————–
Ooo so excited to go to Legg Mason this year!  Hopefully I can finally see Roddick live (wonder how fast his serve looks in person?).  Praying it doesn’t rain…

    Think of it every second,
    I can’t get nothing done.
Only concern is the next time, I’m ‘gon get me some.
Know I should stay away from,
Cause it’s no good for me.
I try and try but my obsession, won’t let me leave…

    Ahh too much Ne-Yo!

  • On the lighter side…

I finally got myself a Wii!  Well technically I got it for my brother, but I’ve been playing it just as much as him these past couple of days haha.  I couldn’t find a Wii for the longest time, but I finally manage to get one through facebook marketplace for a pretty good deal.  Looks like I got something else to distract me .

Who here can’t wait to see the new J.J. Abrams movie on 01-08-08?  You know, that movie w/ no name that was shown before Transformers?  I’ve been following up on it since then, and so far very few details have come about (not even the real title).  However, I did fine a promotional poster for it; check it out (kinda small but oh well):

S.A.M. (Secret Asian Man) is now being shown in the newspaper!  if you go here, it will take you to the most recent comic strip by him.  Some of my favs so far:

yawn, I’m tired…one more round of wii sports tho

  • What a fun day today!  That tennis club get together was really what I needed after all these weeks of work over the summer.

Thanks Alan, Kim and Ha for your comments on my last post.  After reading about the rough 2004 year of James Blake (a professional tennis player who fractured his neck, lost his dad to cancer, and got a paralyzing disease called zoster all within a few months of one another) my own problems pales in comparison.  Still, there are so many times where I wish that things could play out just like at the movies; the good guys always prevailing at the end, the guy getting the girl he’s been after throughout the course of a flick, loose ends being tied up at the finale. Haha, who wouldn’t wanna have their life be like the movies at times?

In any case, I may try and try, but I need to force myself to remember that there are just some things I don’t have complete control over (wouldn’t that make things simplier?).  What to do, then?  Well…I’m sure I’ll get the answer to that question soon enough.  If not, then I’ll just have to learn from this experience and continue on as I’ve always.  As a smart man once said (to the best of my memory):

“If you ask ‘God, why my?’ everytime something goes wrong in your life, don’t forget to ask ‘God, why me?’ when things go right.” -James Blake’s father

Not gonna go down just yet.

  • Some tennis-related news

Student, Brother, Tennis Player, Club President, Intern….

Now time to add a new one:  substitute teacher!

Haha yep, I will be taking over the morning summer tennis classes at UMBC for the next two weeks while Coach Puryear is out doing his tennis camps.  Good way to gain some more experience and making some side cash while im at it .  Only downside is that I gotta wake up even earlier than I am waking up now, but I’ll deal with it.

In other news…I got an email recently from the USTA coordinator in MD.  She’s requesting for human interest stories related to tennis clubs.  One of the examples she gave was initiated romance, and oh boy did we have a lot of that this past year!  It’ll be pretty cool if I can get the story into the tennis magazine (she didn’t give a specific name, but she did say it was well known so…).

Anyone else going to the Legg Mason Tennis Classic at the end of this month?
