Month: September 2005

  • well what a strange couple of days!  Sunday i was suppose to leave cp
to go work at AE from 2-close and well, i DID…but raquel ended up
coming w/ me!  heh, that complicated matters a bit, as i had to figure
out where she would stay and how would she get back up to cp later.

I called everyone who could possibly help out and after all the
unavailables, the laziness and what not i finally got Andy to help me
out (thank you so much!).  So raquel and I slept over at Andy’s dorm
Sunday night, which was totally cool.  Ever been in a room w/ 4-5 gay
guys poking fun at each other, threatening what they are gonna do to
each other later that night?  Absolutely hilarious haha.  I hope we
could sleep over there again sometimes.

today i played w/ this girl jacquie i met during welcome week for a bit
this morning.  Havent played tennis in so long…so awesome to hit
again.  afterwards i ate w/ raquel, derek, lai, and crystal before we
met up w/ everyone else for the CSA meeting.  At 3ish raquel and i left
for the pool party at the outdoor pool at the RAC.  Pretty fun i say
    .

so yea, took raquel home afterwards and 5 minutes away from getting
back home guess what i realized???  I left my freakin phone and wallet
w/ raquel!  AHHH!  not too long ago i attempted to drive up there but
295 south is completely jammed up haha.  well i guess i’ll try again
    tonight.

o yea, this week will hopefully be my last week at AE until winter.

Here are pics of raquel in the dog head hehe:

    What do you guys think???
    —edit—

I really been enjoying people lately.  it just feels great being
nice to someone and having it returned.  Pretty cool
feeling…(idk what im going w/ this heh)

Well so far my classes have been pretty boring.  I dont think im
gonna enjoy my night time experimental psych class, but at least the
teacher is crazy!  reminds me of bill nye actually haha.  my
sensation perception classes looks alright and same w/ my science of
water lab.  however w/ all these classes ive decided to stop
working at AE…at least until this semester ends.

O yea, i got my idea for a halloween costume .  My boss at the RAC allowed me to borrow the head of the old True Grits mascot.  O yea…

Friday was pretty awesome.  After going to this new asian student
meeting (where we decided to try to get rice cookers and a bubble tea
store up in the commons!) i head back home to take raquel out for
dinner.  Yea i know, we celebrated our 1 year 2 weeks late but who
    cares?

While we were eatting we gave each other our presents.  I got a
big card, a poem in a picture frame, gummy bears and a book haha.
I also got a sweet new chain necklace that is 100% sterling
silver!  yay, something to finally replace my cross necklace
I got her a “Sometimes I get so angry!” red bag, a 100 dollar AE gift
card, twizzlers, sour patch kids, izzys, dr pepper, nail kit,
unmentionable (heehee), and some pictures.  pretty cool…

We went to see the hypnotist at my school and that was great fun.
I actually almost got hypnotized while in the audience but some of my
friends started laughing, which took me out of my trance…boo!

yep…so after that we headed up to CP and I FINALLY saw her new room
and roommate (along w/ her b/f).  Pretty cool night…and it has
been a pretty crazy day today too .  among some things we got
some free bubble tea (the waiter accidently threw away our half-filled
ones) and we played ping pong for 2 and a half hours (a record!).

Now we are just chillin the her room (alone heh), watching tennis,
eatting calzones, and drinking our ice tea, dr peppers and green
    tea.  O yea…

Tomorrow i gotta work at AE from 2-7:30pm tho.  O well, this will hopefully be my last week until winter vacation…

I am absolutely shocked at what happened in Louisiana.  That is so
crazy…idk how i would handle that mess…my thoughts go out to all
    the victims down there…

Gas prices are also soaring!  Holy shit…never thought i would see $6/gallon…
    ——edit——

Can you find where I am??

Heh yea, so this was from last year’s Welcome Week since the site hasn’t put up pics of this years yet.

    Its been CRAZY
these past few days!  Ive been gettin up early, like around 8-9am, and
going to school to help my commuting freshmen and transfers and not
leaving until around 10-11pm.  I’ve been constantly tired from lack of
sleep and energy, my allergies been acting up, been having a slight
stomach ache through the whole week, and did I mention ive been
    extremely tired?!

But you know what…yea, it was all worth it, for real.  I was very
surprise w/ how many people came in my group.  They just kept coming
back and in the end we had a great little bond.  Or maybe it was
because we were all tired and we were just laughing at everything
But yea…I know that i help made a big difference of a lot of the
commuters that came and that is enough to make me wanna come back next
    year as a Woolie.

I wanna give a shout out to the Woolies that made the experience even better than it was:  Jennifer, Amir, Trish, Bryan, Janna, Grace, Lenroy, Chinonso, and Gina
Some of the other Woolies (especially certain returning Woolies) didnt
seem like they wanted to get to know the newer folks…eh w/e.

So yea what did we do:

-Been to the dining hall far more than i can count (but free food!)

-Extreme Socializing Playfair:  Kinda fun, but sooo crazy.  “I want a standing OVATION!”

-RESPECT session:  awesome session!  ALMOST made me cry…heh

-Free Pool and Ping Pong:  always lovely…and met more people who are interested in the tennis club!  I wonder how the club is gonna work out…

-Sin City up in the gameroom:  I love that movie, so why not give my commuters a chance to see it too?

-Outdoor Napoleon Dynamite:  Bad movie IMO, but good main character

    -Book discussion:  Went a lot
better than i expected!  everyone in my discussion read the book (well,
except me heh) and we had some pretty good discussion.  I got my
“moment of delight” when one of the commuters name Derrick said that
UMBC is so welcoming and such a different environment than he been use
to.  im happy i got the opportunity to help him see how great this
    college really is…

    -Capital Steps:  a hilarious
    political satire show.  I wished that i knew more about politics tho;
then maybe i would have gotten all the jokes.  But still, awesome show
    nontheless.

-Convocation:  kinda boring, but you know…I got to lead the new students into the RAC tho!

-Big Crazy Fun Night:  that was
exactly what the name saids!  There was so much stuff going on but I
mostly did karaoke judge for the time i was there.  Karaoke was
awesome; heard some pretty good singing and I even got a chance to
practice my vocals haha.  I had a blast…

btw raquel came by on monday night!  after we watch capital steps she
ended up sleepin over at my house.  You bet I was happy to see her
    again….  Ive gave
her my first present that absolutely surprise her; a giant chinese take
out box pillow!  cant wait til this weekend to give her my final
gift…along w/ finally seeing her new dorm!

    Today:

First day of classes!  Man i couldnt go 10 steps w/o bumping into
someone i knew!  pretty cool…classes were eh, ok (boring of course).
Basically ive been busy all day just doing meetings, running errand,
buying stuff, etc.  I hope I do well this semester!
