Tell me I’m not the only one that does this.
There’s something wrong with me. I’m starting to notice that when I see certain people’s user names, I end up singing some song in my head that has their user name in the lyrics. Sometimes it’s because their names are very similar to a song lyric and sometimes it’s just because of some random connection I made.
Here are some examples where I’ve found myself doing this:
wutuwaitn4: Everytime I see his name, in my head I automatically start going “what you waiting, what you waiting, what you waiting, what you waiting, what you waiting for? Tick tock tick tock tick tock tick tock…” (In case you haven’t figured it out, that’s a Gwen Stefani song.)
BomCamChuoi: I have mentioned this before to her, but before I got to really know her I used to have a hard time remembering her screen name. Somehow whenever I thought about her, I end up singing “Bom chika bow wowww”. Yeah, that little ditty =Pmi1kandcerea1: She actually has two things. First, everytime I say her screen name in my head I say it like how that old VH1 show used to say Pop Up Video (you guys do remember that right, or am I dating myself -_-). “Milk and cereal!” See?
The second thing with her involves the title you see on her page whenever you visit her site. Right on top it says “Stop.then read”. Of course being the weirdo I am, I say it to the chorus of OneRepublic’s “Stop and Stare”. “Stop then readddd….”
Please tell me some of you also do this so I’m not the only crazy person here! Did I get some of you to start singing those screennames now in your head? If so, excellent!

There’s a few usernames on here that I have no clue how to pronounce so I totally make things up. Haha!

I always sing the ones that come from songs, but I can’t say I make up songs (or convert them) to go along. Maybe you’re just crazy

I don’t even read their full screen names. First, I break it into coherent parts then read the first and last letters. That’s how I recognize people’s screen names.
There’s an LL Cool J song about Milk and Cereal, so I think about it every time I see that name.

i do this all the time.
for example, i could be reading something at school, and if there’s a phrase that reminds me of a song, it’ll play in my head over and over until i stumble upon another phrase or word that reminds me of another song. i think its because i know the lyrics to way too many songs. its not like i go and study them. i just, remember the words..idk i guess its just easy for me. :O

For example, I play with numbers. Right now it’s 7:42. I like to try to figure out how to make things equal up to 10, 1, or 0. If I take the average of 4 & 2, then I have 3. 7 + 3 equals 10. Or, I could add 4 and 2, and then subtract that sum from 7 and I’d have 1. If I can’t find a way to make things work out in my head, it sort of bugs me. I don’t do this nearly as much as I used to. I used to do it all the time. Sort of like an OCD habit or something.
There you go. Do you feel like you’re not alone now, even though I don’t sing the lyrics the way you do? I think mine is weirder.

Flash mobs are when a group of people get together to do something in public, then leaves. It could be anything from everyone singing, everyone pointing at something, everyone dancing, everyone freezes in place, etc.

I do that too especially in normal conversation. I often do that especially when I’m in the mood.

I guess, in my case, I add ~ after a word when I’m talking to someone, to indicate I’m singing it. I realize that I do that a lot. [example: "Ellie, you're really odd." "I knowwww~"] And if a username is related to any song I know, I just wind up singing the song for a while, until I realize I could be singing songs way cooler. :3

haha, i dont sing on screen names, but i do give the screen name nick names sometimes. It’s crazy.
