  • Las Vegas trip: Ehhhh

Note to self (and everyone else):  If you go to Las Vegas, DON’T go with your family if you
wish to have a lot of fun.  All that
stuff you see on tv and movies?  Doesn’t
even have a chance to happen when you’re forced to be with your family during
the entire time you’re in Sin
City.  I want to commit some sins!!!

The week here hasn’t been all bad, I guess.  I did get to take in the scenery of Las Vegas and all of it’s
crazy looking hotels.  The day trip to Los Angeles was pretty
cool.  I got to see Hollywood Blvd. and a bunch of celebrity
houses while riding in a tour bus w/ a smooth talking Nigerian fella (“Jackie
Chan Jackie Chan Jackie Chan ladies and gentlemen, mmmmmm.”)

Two interesting moments happened during the trip as
well.  The night we came back from LA, we
got back to our hotel rooms and found out we had to move to another room at a
different part of the hotel.  When I
asked why, the manager or whoever told me that “there was a water problem” in
our tower and thus we couldn’t get water, or something like that.  Fine, sounds reasonable enough.  Later that night I was watching the local
news when the top story was our hotel, the Tropicana, having to evacuate the
tower we stayed in because they found traces of E. Coli in the water!  That manager lied to me!  I should have demanded some free amenities to
w/ our new (admittedly upgraded) room!  I
suppose it’s fine…as long as I’m not glued to the toilet seat for the next week
    haha.

The other interesting incident happened on the plane ride
back to BWI from LAX.  It’s about 4am, so
the lights are all turned off in the plane.
I couldn’t go to sleep during the 5 and half ride back home, so I stayed
up reading Sampra’s book (great book).
All of a sudden, I hear a guy in the back call for an attendant and all
the lights were instantly turned on, waking up most of the passengers.  A guy (looked about 30s/40s) was seizuring a
few rows behind me!  Luckily, there was a
doctor/nurse on board to help out, but the guy went into a second seizure on
our way down which seemed to have freaked some people out.  When we landed he was immediately taken out
and he seemed okay.  Funny; during the
entire time I kept thinking about this little girl sitting a row behind me that
I overheard say this was her first time flying on a plane.  Guess that will be the memory she’ll be
    having for that  .

With all that being said, I still can’t help but think:  there are probably people nearby getting
laid, making huge wagers, getting drunk out of their minds, macking on pretty girls in the pool, staying up all night
cruising the town, etc. etc…and here I am, forced to taking care of my little
brother and having to go to bed at 12am.
It’s really sad.  For most of the
trip I found myself just daydreaming the time away (if you know me well enough
I don’t have to tell you about what).

I really want to come back to Las Vegas, but definitely with friends
instead.  Seriously, anybody up for going
    to Las Vegas
any time soon?  If so let me know, because
after seeing all the things here that I wanted to do but couldn’t, I will spend
the money to go back so I can let loose, for real.  Any takers?

  • I know how you feel. I went to Las Vegas about 3 times with family. I mean, to me its okay and all I guess since I dont drink and gamble. My mom doesnt mind me gambling, she introduced me to it and I got addicted to slot machine (losing most of the time). The casinos in Las vegas are crazy, they pack a rollercoaster, a jungle, museums, clubs (check out Beatles lounge), mall, aquarium….etc in there! Its so fun. So what didn’t your parents allow you to do? wander off without taking your brother? Oh yea, does your brother have a bowl hair cut or its a beanie hat?

I hope you have fun while youre at it!

Yeaaa, pretty much not going anywhere w/o my brother, which severely limited my activities haha. If you go again we should go together so I can actually check out some places I couldnt w/ my brother in toll. O yea, my brother got a bowl cut now…haha does it look like a hat?

btw I saw your dad last night (at the noodle king?) when my family went out to celebrate my grandma’s birthday

  • sure sure. Yea I thought it was a hat! lol. When you said “Jackie Chan, Jackie Chan Ladies and gentlemen..mmmm…” I was like what? and then I realized your dad’s name is Jackie Chan. Maybe thats what you were implying? lol.

Haha that was what my tour guide said when we were leaving from Jackie Chan’s house . He would do that w/ every celebrity saying “(celebrity name), (celebrity name), (celebrity name), ladies and gentlemen. MMmmmmmmm.” <—-kept on making that sound after everything he said haha

  • Holy crap man. Definitely know the feeling. I too also went to Vegas for the 4th of July weekend. I wasn’t so fortunate to go with family but I did go with my 18 year old ex girlfriend which limited me on the fun factor as well.. Couldn’t really go to the night clubs or drink outside our room or bring girls back. Haha. But definitely. Vegas is fun when you’re 21 and over and with friends. What a coincidence.

Haha really? I had to leave Vegas exactly on the fourth of July…but I did get to see fireworks exploding all over LA as I flew into the airport

  • haha i know how you feel, i was at disney with my family and we had to do everything together…it got annoying

  • hey man, left you a message. hope you get back to me. see ya!
