What a fun day today! That tennis club get together was really what I needed after all these weeks of work over the summer.
Thanks Alan, Kim and Ha for your comments on my last post. After reading about the rough 2004 year of James Blake (a professional tennis player who fractured his neck, lost his dad to cancer, and got a paralyzing disease called zoster all within a few months of one another) my own problems pales in comparison. Still, there are so many times where I wish that things could play out just like at the movies; the good guys always prevailing at the end, the guy getting the girl he’s been after throughout the course of a flick, loose ends being tied up at the finale. Haha, who wouldn’t wanna have their life be like the movies at times?
In any case, I may try and try, but I need to force myself to remember that there are just some things I don’t have complete control over (wouldn’t that make things simplier?). What to do, then? Well…I’m sure I’ll get the answer to that question soon enough. If not, then I’ll just have to learn from this experience and continue on as I’ve always. As a smart man once said (to the best of my memory):
“If you ask ‘God, why my?’ everytime something goes wrong in your life, don’t forget to ask ‘God, why me?’ when things go right.” -James Blake’s father
Not gonna go down just yet.
