This Was the Trip…
…I took my girlfriend to California, her first time in the state.
…we missed our connection flight due to delays.
…we met up with friends, old and new.
…where @FlipGuy31O photobombed a few photos.
…where we hit rainier than normal weather.
…we rode cable cars together.
…I went back to Alcatraz, after my first time back at a Bay Area Xanga Meet in 2009.
…we found our favorite stars.
…we arrived at Griffith Observatory just a few minutes before sunset.
…we made it to the end of Santa Monica pier for sunset, with a marching band following us.
…I drove 12 hours down from San Francisco to Los Angeles along the Pacific Coast Highway.
…I added myself to the Pacific Coast line.
…we went to the bathroom together.
…we did our versions of figures at a candy shop.
… @Sonychak found my misplaced camera and added his own photos for lulz.
…Creepy @Sonychak and his girlfriend appeared in my panoramic photos.
…I tried and enjoyed delicious spicy hot pot.
…I also ate a gigantic torta that could have fed me for at least a day.
…where I found out @Sonychak ‘s girlfriend can lift up my girlfriend.
…that reminded me of @sumoneoverthere ‘s swag.
…my girlfriend ate a burger she actually enjoyed.
…I bought a fun gift for my brother.

Glad you’re back, Alex. You seem to have found my favourite spot in Los Angeles, along with going up the Coit Tower. THe Coast drive would seem to make it a true California dream.

This is a wonderful photo memory collection. Thanks for sharing. I absolutely love that top picture of the 2 of you sitting by the heart with the Christmas tree in the background which will always remind you when it was taken. Also loved the one of sunset at the observatory, and some of your panoramics, oh and the faces your friends make just had me lol-ing. great blog!

Old like…you can sorta smell the greasy smell of charred dinosaur on me when I cooked.
@lonelywanderer2 - LOL; I thought that’d pique your curiosity. It was several years ago now. She actually found a James Dean figure. A local “Denny’s Diner has a few celebrity figures out front. Someone had broken James Dean and Marilyn off and stolen them. James Dean was ditched in the woods near where we lived at the time. Both were recovered and returned to the diner. They are back where they belong. They’ve been reinforced so they can’t be easily removed again. I think I’ll blog on this later; I’ve been meaning to for a while now.

My cousin still claims larger tennis rackets helps you to play tennis better. He also insists that backhanded with two hands has more control and is not girly. I suppose there will probably be someone majoring in tennis science one day.

@PPhilip - Would like to go to Europe sometime, I just need a travel partner and have the time/money budgeted for such a trip. For tennis, your cousin is kinda right in some ways; bigger rackets are more forgiving, but smaller racket heads will give more control if you have the power already. 2 handed backhands generally have better control, but less girly? Eh, one hands are pretty stylish!

I recognize the California Plaza (first picture). I worked there for 5 years (taller tower). I saw the big Angels Flight crash from my window, the RR was out of commission for many years after that.
