What a lazy, lethargic week. Need to add some spice!
Can’t wait til I go visit Hong Kong. Less than one month away…
If you haven’t check out David Sides piano music yet, you should really take a look. He is absolutely amazing playing various (mostly rap/r&b) songs on the piano, w/o sheet music! Here are a few I really liked:
Bed by J. Holiday
Kiss Kiss by Chris Brown
Kanye West Medley
He also has piano covers of songs by Rihanna, Ne-Yo, One Republic, Coldplay, and others at his youtube page.
Gonna talk about Heroes now. Warning: possible spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen this past week’s episode.

I am SO happy HRG did not die for real! I was literally jumping around and screaming like a monkey as I watched him falling in slow motion after getting shot by Mohinder (who is by far the dumbest smart person). I was freaking out that they had killed one of the most interesting characters on the show for 6 minutes…until they showed him reviving in the last few seconds of the show. What a relief!
So I found some funny onset photos from Greg Beeman’s blog (that can be found here), who is the director/producer of Heroes. Some of my favorite pics:
HRG face is priceless
SLUSHO MAKESS HRG LAUGH
BUT SLUSHO CAN TURN FROM FRIEND TO ENEMY QUICKLY – ALWAYS KEEP YOUR EYES ON SLUSHO
*”Slusho” is connected to the Cloverfield movie (which is directed by J.J. Abrams, who also is involved with Heroes)*

So besides Heroes, Monday and Tuesday were not fun for me. I spent most of those days either studying for my clinical psyc exam or writing up my philosophy paper. Oh why did I have to wait until the last minute?? Good thing I don’t have any more papers in that class. I have a health psyc exam and a socy paper due early next week, but afterwards I’ll be pretty much free until finals.
Thanksgiving break has been okay so far. There was a power outage that lasted about an hour while I was at Timmy’s place for Thanksgiving lunch/dinner, which gave me a lot of time to just lay around and do one of my favorite activities…thinking haha. During that hour, I thought about my past, my present, and future. Thought about what I’m happy about and what I wish I had that would make me as happy as I was 2 years ago. I thought about so many people that I haven’t had much chance to hang out with over the past year or so and wondered how they were doing. Haha kinda dorky…but if I was able to teleport I would constantly be using that ability to go hang out with everyone I know, and just talk about life.
Being at home is nice…but I can’t wait to get back to school. I only got a semester and a month at college left, and there are still so many things I wanna do.
I don’t wanna graduate yet. I’m having way too much fun.
American Gangster: alright…thought it would have more action but turned out to be more wordy. Not bad still.
Beowulf in 3D: Frickin’ GREAT. Great action and story. I should have paid more attention in 12th grade English class . Yea, Angelina Jolie is a hottie, even though she was a monster haha.
Some shots from yesterday’s tennis club social at An Loi and Columbia Ice Rink:
There were some racist girls at the ice rink! We were all just standing there waiting when I noticed these two middle/high school girls looking at us in a funny way. I overheard one of them saying “they need to move out of the way” but wasn’t sure if they were talking about us. Suddenly, one of the girls stood up and said pretty loudly “It smells like CHINESE food in here! I gotta leave!”, and they both walk out laughing.
OOooooooo I was pissed! I haven’t heard a racist remark like that directed towards anybody in a very long time. Granted, we may have smelled like pho since we just got out of An Loi, but that was an unnecessary ignorant remark. It’s people like those that make you wonder what some people are thinking when they look at you. I really hope karma bite there asses big time. One of my friend commented that I was good at holding my cool, because had he had heard that he would have done something to them. Idk…what would you have done?
Alright, I’ve been having too much fun these past few days. I need to
bunker down and study for my clinical psyc exam on Tuesday and start
writing my philosophy paper that’s due on Tuesday at 5pm.
You know you liked that corny quote ^_^
I was interviewed by a graduate student as part of my extra credit for a class. He asked me to talked about something that has been an issue for me, or something that has been on my mind. There was only one thing that I really had to talk about, and I’m glad I did. Didn’t really learn anything new, but things that I sorta already know became clearer. Sucks having a rational side and a reality side of me always competing.
Anyways, tennis club socials for the rest of the week (besides studies). Hope it all goes well, and I really hope people can all get along, for the occasion at the very least. I only got a small amount of time to hang out w/ a lot of people before I graduate, so I hope for a lot more good times as oppose to stupid times.
I really hate this characteristic about me; that I tend to accidentally say things out loud that have just popped in my head, things that I neither really mean or have thoroughly thought out. This problem got me in trouble today, and I’m completely embarrassed about it. For that, I got cut deep (emotionally)…but after thinking about it I concluded that I totally deserved every bit of it, and maybe even more. After today’s event, it has made me realize how much I need to fix this stupid problem of mine asap before I accidentally cause harm to anyone else. Ahhhhh…!!!
I wanted to go to FACES this weekend at CP, but plans fell through. I did have a very enjoyable Friday evening celebrating Crystal’s b-day at the Cheesecake Factory. You’re so loved by a lot of people Crystal haha.
Some shots from Crystal’s birthday shindig:
This weekend was also a really great weekend for the UMBC Tennis Club, because we were able to beat both Loyola and Maryland in our final matches of the season! The Maryland victory was even better because this was the first time we have ever beaten them in a match. I’m very proud of everyone who have played over this semester and I hope everyone can get together sometime next weekend for a tennis club social. There’s definitely quite a few people I want to treat for helping to make this semester such a great one for the club. What a season…
Some shots from this weekend matches:
This week shouldn’t be too bad. I need to finish up a group project for my interviewing technique class and start researching and working on my papers for sociology and philosophy. Yaayyyy.
Alright Alex, no more foolishness…

Geeking time (Heroes spoilers alert):
Did anyone catch the awesome Heroes last night?? Bout time there was a fast paced, action oriented episode!
I’m starting to like Matt Parkman so much more now! His abilities are much more interesting now that he can use it offensively (sorta).
Peter needs to stop with that amnesia crap and get back to his old self.
Nathan is still the man. They need to show him fly around more though!
OMG Kensei is alive in the present time and he’s Adam! Ahhhhhh!
So much good stuff happened. Next week’s episode looks killer.
*Cross fingers* Please let this writer’s strike be over sooner rather
than later; I’m already missing my late night talk shows. It
needs to end before Heroes is forced to cut short it’s season. Oh hell no!
(end spoilers)

Yay, done with exams for a while! I think I did pretty well on both exams, but we’ll see . Now I just got papers to write until thanksgiving break
.
Sometimes I wish I could write my more personal stuff here…*shrugs*
Paintball was fun yesterday. I’m so glad that I was able to make it this time, since the past few times we had matches scheduled on the same day as this trip. The trip was made extra fun because some of my tennis club folks were able to come along. Very cool
Some shots from the trip (from Ray’s facebook photo album):
Yup, that’s 3 paintball worth of paint in my mouth. mmmmm…
Woke up today w/ my side and right knee kinda hurting. When I went to check them out, I found random bruises from paintball that I didn’t notice yesterday . Ah the fun of paintball…
Today the club had a match against Georgetown that we didn’t do so great against , BUT it was a tad better than the last time we played them haha. This coming weekend is our last matches for the season against Loyola and Maryland! Wish us luck!
Whew, finally got to settle down after a pretty busy Halloween today. from 9am-1ish I helped out with the CSA/TSA Bubble Tea fundraiser. I just gotta apologized to those who bought some tea from us and were, um, less than satisfied . Hey, I just help made the bubbles! But honestly, we need to get on the moo moo w/ testing out the drinks and approving it BEFORE we bring it out to be sold. In the future, we gotta invest in making bubble tea that taste more like tea as oppose to that water stuff we had today. Yup yup…
Despite that set back, the sale went pretty well and we made more than we thought we would. Everyone that helped out was great too, so that really help make the event fun. If only our drinks had tasted yummy! Ah well, next time.
Some pics from the bubble tea sale (in case you’re wondering, the reason why I was dressed like that was because I was a doctor for Halloween; Dr. Phil Good to be exact ):
Saw IV finally tonight. It was alright; got very confused about the ending, but now I get it. I didn’t like the beginning sequence; stuff like that definitely reminds me why I can never be a real doctor haha.
This week is moving by so fast…before I know it, it’s gonna be next week when I have exams and other stuff galore! Gotta start cracking on my studies…I’ll do it tomorrow. Maybe.
